Last weekend we got to host Grandma Patsy and Grandpa Denny for a weekend of fog covered fun here in WA on thier way to SoCal. Had a Great time at the Zoo and the Hands on Museum. Honsetly I was worn out. I think they put a bit of a hurting on us all. The Museum was great, and we had what may be the very last nice day this year to go to the Zoo. Well, everything is stabilizing in our lives and getting back to normal. I have a great job, the kids are all well, and anxious to get into their house, and we are all looking forward to our family being together for the Holidays. Hope everyone is well.

The Sun Shined on the Dewitts

Some of you might know that we have been looking for a house to move into for a while. After placing offers on a few short sales, and having them fall apart, we had all but given up. Enter the declining housing market....
We found and incredible deal within our price range (which was a tough one for a 4 BR house in WA), placed an offer and the good Lord smiled on us. In fact the day we made the offer, there was another couple making an offer. I was for sure that we would not get the house again. I am still amazed, the other folks must have really tried to lowball the seller, but long story short we got the house. It is in a good school district and right down the street from a beautiful park. It is good that we are going to be getting on with things, and start a new chapter in our lives. We plan on making the change over the Christmas break. I will keep you posted

Back on Track
Well, I am finally home and can get this thing up and going again. Unfortunately the net at Rucker would seldom allow me to upload any photos. I cannot express how much of a relief it is to get home to the beans and the cold overcast weather. I love me some liquid sunshine. Must have something to do with the red hair, or just that I have spent the better part of the summer in a literal sauna. Well, anyway, back to life as we know it. BTW the pic is from a weekend trip to the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola. It is hands down the best airplane museum I have ever seen, and I have seen most. If you are close to FL and miss it you are missing out for sure. Plus it is free....wohoooo!

Moving on up....
Well, my wonderful experience here at Fort Rucker is quickly coming to a close. I should be done end of this week and heading back towards home with a quick stop in Kentucky. With any luck I will get home before the Beans drive Grandma completely insane and be able to start working towards my own insanity. As usual, Grandma has had to deal with a lot of very tough things in my absence. Unfortunately it always seems that way. She is truly amazing. Following this I should be home for a bit to get trained up and settled in my new job. We have some catching up with local friends and family to take care of, then on into Advent and Christmas season. Maybe even an adventure down to SOCAL for a wedding. It looks like the house we made an offer on is going to fall through. It is unfortunate, but such is life. I'll be back to the realty web sites when I return as well. I apologise for not keeping up, this course has been pretty demanding for a simple kid like me. It is very rewarding though and will take our family's future where we need to go. Hope all is well with everyone. Travis

Coming of Age....
Well, I have arrived down here in lower Alabama. I was welcomed by heat that can only be rivaled by the armpit of a Gorilla in the jungle in the middle of summer. However, I really am looking forward to the Test Pilot course and I volunteered, so I cannot really complain.
Upon my arrival a good friend of mine talked me into running in a local road race. I didn't have much to do so I went for the social aspect of it. As it turns out there are not to many old runners in these here parts. I won my age group (not saying what that is) and ended up getting a trophy. The whole experience took me back to a 5K I talked my brother-in-law into a few years back. This time however I was the one winning the age group that ends with a dash. Funny how things work out. Hope this finds everyone well, I hope to be home before to long.

Back off again

Well, I am off again to complete this LONG Army school. Back to sunny Alabama for 6 more weeks. I am dreading it, but this should allow me to get things settled down in our family. Grandma will be back here holding down the fort for this final installment. School is in full swing and everyone is very busy. If anyone drops through Rucker, please look me up. I will be the vampire white guy in the shade dying from the 90 + weather and humidity and wishing he was back here in the God's country.

Off to the Fair
Today we spent the day at the Puyallup Fair. For those not from these parts, that is basically the state fair around here. There are tons of other fairs in different places, but none are the "Puyallup Fair". We hit it early and got to see a few of the early rounds of the livestock judging. Everyone had a great time and the parenting gods were smiling on me because the Beans got tired and wanted to leave as the crowds reached the massive level. All in all it was a great day, even turned out to be sunny to boot.
Hope all is well,
Travis
